Marguerite Gerard

This is the early season equivalent to Sarah Bernhardt. Grows prolifically and is the first peony to bloom with enormous soft pink flowers on tall and well foliaged stems. Large guard petals surround a central crown of petals that range from rose to pale pink. This is the classic French “blousy” double pink peony. It has a strong fragrance.
